[dropcap]E[/dropcap]ste domingo 20 de Mayo a partir de las 8:30 am se realizará en todo el país una marcha pacífica en contra de un flagelo que desde siempre ha estado implícito en la sociedad venezolana: El maltrato a los animales.
El objetivo del movimiento apolítico y sin fines de lucro «Venezuela Unida Contra el Maltrato Animal» (VUCEMA) a través de esta actividad es el de «dar a conocer, como primer paso a todo el país las leyes vigentes de Protección Animal, para que éste conocimiento pueda abrir espacios de discusión, que permitan a las fundaciones y asociaciones encargadas del resguardo animal, poder pedir su aplicación y sanciones pertinentes y en algunos casos la modificación de las mismas».
Se desconoce el marco legal que protege a los animales
«Estas leyes son desconocidas por la gran mayoría de las Personas Naturales, Consejos Comunales, prefecturas de cada Estado y Autoridades Municipales», asegura el Vucema en un comunicado.
[quote]»Estos últimos tienen la responsabilidad de aplicar las normas para la protección, control y bienestar de la fauna y establecer las respectivas sanciones para quienes infrinjan las normas y los maltraten».[/quote]
Los organizadores de la marcha esperan que esta acción «sirva para llamar la atención del país sobre la problemática actual del maltrato animal y abandono», al tiempo que esperan realizar campañas en todos los estados de Venezuela para denunciar estos abusos hacia quienes no tienen voz.
Vucema invita a «todas las personas que vivan dentro del territorio Nacional, participar en nuestras campañas en pro del bienestar animal y generar una cultura ciudadana, y de esta manera trabajar unidos por el bienestar de los animales en todo el país».
